Veritas Christian Academy is proud to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP). Since 1980, Duke TIP has been a world leader in identifying academically talented students and providing innovative programs to support the development of their optimal potential.

Beginning at critical points in education, Duke TIP gives students a chance to learn more about their abilities. Through identification, recognition, information, advocacy, challenging educational programs, and research, Duke TIP offers a wide array of services to students, their parents, educators, and schools. Duke TIP enjoys a long history of supporting and extending local efforts to better understand, motivate, enrich, and academically challenge the brightest students in our nation.

How to Qualify

To take part in the Duke TIP 4th - 6th Grade Talent Search, Veritas students must be in 4th or 5th grade when applying. Additionally, students must have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade level standardized achievement, aptitude, mental ability test battery or approved state criterion-referenced test or students must have scored at or above 125 on an IQ administration. Scores from either of the two most recent test administrations are acceptable; mental ability tests must be no more than two years old; and students need only qualify on one acceptable composite or subtest area. Tests of this type are already a regular part of a student’s elementary school experience.
